Seem to be the word of the day. With the auction opening at the RCA tonight. A little red postbox appearing in the hallway to submit our own designs and the images below a gift all the way from Moscow last night, I think I better dust off the lino tools.
I did some blogging, I’m sure i’m not the only one this week who’s been a little too busy to blog. So coming from the warmth of my duvet I thought i’d do a little week run down. So this week saw the first hand in for the year the printers were printing full pelt (many thanks for your patience) it was a busy few days but one of the best weeks i’d had for ages in the graphics studios. It’s always exciting to see the end results of images and ideas and the first time i’d met some of our 2+2 students which was nice. The quality of some of the work I saw was outstanding in-fact without sounding too gushing it was the best work i’d seen for the first project of the year, I hope there was a lot of raised glasses in the pubs on Friday night! I’ll be having a proper look through more work next week.
My Friday evening consisted of going to see Local Natives a band my brother got me into a while ago I missed out seeing them this summer so a really good way to end the week. I was one of the annoying people stood right in the middle taking photos on my iphone. GM and I have been using this the Instagram app a lot this week, think I prefer it to hipsamatic
Yesterday spent a bit of time strolling round town bought a couple of new badges for the collection and a book by the illustrator John Burningham. I later found this but it’s a shame it’s so far away. http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/gallery/2010/sep/22/booksforchildrenandteenagers
Enough ranting for a Sunday morning I’m off to prepare my talk for next Thursday more info on that soon.
I thought I’d post this you tube link for everyone who’d made a book this week.
Very interesting guest lecture today. Gemma is an Illustrator who hails from Ipswich, and has for the past 2 years been a full time freelance illustrator. She gave a very forthright talk and gave some good advice regarding getting yourself out there, for instance sometime it is a good thing to do…
